The German arm of the Médecins du Monde network. Treatment is given regardless of origin, status or papers – in Germany too. Speaking publicly about what the teams see is an explicit part of the medical work; that makes the organisation more awkward to run and more credible.

Europe’s largest medical aid depot: a warehouse in Tönisvorst that supplies hospitals and health posts in more than eighty countries. The advantage is concrete – buying at scale, a basic course of treatment often costs less than one euro.

What you should know
action medeor has held the DZI seal again only since December 2024; in the years before that it did not. We could not fully establish why – we would rather say so than leave it out.
Doctors here work unpaid and take leave to do it – six weeks per deployment, often returning to the same region for years. That keeps staff costs low and, incidentally, means the teams know the places they come back to.
